However, Pogaru is a 2021 Indian Kannada-language masala film written in Arunbalaji, directed by Nanda Kishore and produced by BK Gangadhar. The film was planned as a bilingual Kannada and Telugu film, but the Telugu version was later dropped and a Tamil and Telugu dubbed version was released. Moreover, the Tamil dubbed version of the film is titled Semma Thimiru. It was later dubbed into Hindi under the same title Pogaru by RKD Studio. It received mixed reviews, who appreciated the cast’s performances and action sequences, but criticized its toxic masculinity, songwriting, and pacing.

However, the film opened at 100% occupancy and grossed ₹21 crore in 2 days. The film was a flop in the Tamil and Telugu versions, but a commercial success in the Kannada version.
