Internet Write for Us
Internet write for us: The Internet (or Internet) is a global network of interconnected computer networks that communicate using the Internet protocol suite (TCP/IP). It is a network of private, public, academic, business, and government networks ranging from local to global in scope and connected by a diverse set of electronic, wireless, and optical networking technologies. The Internet provides a vast array of information resources and services, such as the World Wide Web’s (WWW) inter-linked hypertext documents and applications, electronic mail, telephony, and file sharing.
The origins of the Internet can be traced back to packet switching and research funded by the Department of Defense in the 1960s. In the 1970s, the ARPANET’s primary precursor network served as a backbone for the interconnection of regional academic and military networks. Commercial networks and enterprises were able to connect to the Internet by the early 1990s. This transition marked the beginning of the modern Internet’s evolution and resulted in sustained exponential growth.
The Internet has reshaped, redefined, or even bypassed most traditional communication media, including telephony, radio, television, paper mail, and newspapers, giving birth to new services such as email, Internet telephony, Internet television, online music, digital newspapers, and video streaming websites are all examples of online media. Newspapers, books, and other print publications adapt to website technology or reshape themselves into blogging, web feeds, and online news aggregators. Through instant messaging, Internet forums, and social networking services, the Internet has enabled and accelerated new forms of personal interaction. For major retailers, small businesses, and entrepreneurs, online shopping has grown at an exponential rate. Internet-based business-to-business and financial services have an impact on supply chains across entire industries.
Internet write for us: The Internet has no centralized governance regarding technological implementation or access and usage policies; each network establishes its procedures. The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), a non-profit organization of loosely affiliated international participants, is responsible for the technical underpinning and standardization of the core protocols. The Internet was named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World by USA Today in November 2006.
